AIS Block Off Plate

This is a quick tech article about what a AIS block off plate is.  Yamaha has installed a AIS on the Wolverine, that stands for Air Injection System and it injects air into the exhaust after the exhaust valves to help burn any excess fuel left over for EPA reason. Couple this with the extreme lean fuel map they use which can be fixed with our Power Commander Ignition/Fuel controller then you have really hot exhaust which gets the bed hot, rear diff etc.

The plate is so you can stop using the AIS and remove it.

The AIS valve is connected to rear of the cylinder head, see pic below of the plate installed.  So what you do is remove the two screws from what is there now, leave the reed valve in and replace the stock cover with this plate and use the same two screws.  Then we include a cap to install on the air box where the hose from the AIS valve runs to, remove hose and slide cap on air box.  Then unplug AIS and unbolt it and remove the entire assembly. Then tape off the harness connection.  Entire process is 5 to 10 min.
