When cleaning your new sheave with brake clean or carb cleaner for first install DO NOT get any on the coating inside the sheave, you will wash it off before it does what it does. Use a cloth to wipe belt surface off and inside the center hole out.

Once the coating has been "burnished" in with use then you can clean it with what ever you want, the lube will be in the pores of the metal and weights then.
